My experience creating T.P. crystalized the notion that bathrooms have interesting purposes and meanings in video game design. My colleague Joshua Fisher and I authored a research article published for the 2021 IEEE Conference on Games that explored the topic further.
As part of our research for the article, we (with the help of a couple of undergraduate research assistants) created an online database of video game bathrooms.
I presented the article at the conference (video below), which adopted a remote format due to the pandemic.
