Elemento is a match-three, tile-based puzzle game. I primarily played a level design role, devising and implementing the puzzles for all 60 levels.
Additionally, I helped design some of the abilities in the game, which are used to solve the puzzles. Each element has it’s own ability that can be used to help clear tiles. We tried to come up with ideas that both resonated thematically with the associated element, as well as offered a unique puzzle solving mechanic.
For example, the earth ability was designed to evoke the feeling of growth. Clicking an empty tile with the earth ability causes an earth tile to appear, and then an additional earth tile appears above it as though a sapling is sprouting up out of the ground.
